Electoral College

Here is a full copy of the completed homework, which has all of the bullet points from today's discussion. Remember, that what I am looking for is that you have basic knowledge of how it works, and that you have some ideas on the pros and cons. 2007-2008 American Government w/Mr. Hildebrand

Overview

We have two main focus areas for Sophomores:

  1. Pass the Maryland Government High School Assessment in May, and
  2. Explore in depth the story of how the United States Government developed from its beginnings in the Revolutionary era to the current situation.

This class is not hard! But it does require students to consistently focus on attaining new concepts while regularly reviewing and applying concepts they have already mastered.

Students will practice throughout the year using real HSA test questions through regular, weekly assessment and periodic benchmarks. The HSA itself is not a mystery— it's online at the Maryland State Education website, and students may also preview questions here.

So throughout the year we will practice, practice, practice!— until everyone has the skills necessary to correctly answer all potential test questions, including both the seoect response (multiple choice) and the essays.

Coach Class

Students are encouraged to attend Coach Class sessions as they find it necessary— both for extra help and explanation, as well as to improve their grade. Coach Class is held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:00. Additionally, students may take advantage of the Online Coach section of this website and can also contact me by email.
